Galena, IL

Inland

Galena, Illinois is named after the galena mineral, a lead ore which was mined by Native Americans in the area for a thousand years. It became an early American boomtown before it declined in the late 19th century. Today it has been revitalized as a popular tourist destination which is also home to some major companies and employers. The local area has developed it’s own unique style and architecture which is influenced by the 1820s, Greek Revival, Italianate, Gothic Revival, and Victorian styles. The designers of this product have endeavored to honor and reflect these influences at the Worldmark™ Galena resort.
